Introduction to the Glaivier Class and Overview

Released with the “Battle for the Throne of Chaos” Update, the Glaivier is a Melee Damage Dealer that has two weapons, a Glaive and a Spear, which grant her a balanced mix of speed and power. Her Glaive focuses on dealing quick damage with a torrent of attacks through her Flurry Stance. The Spear focuses on powerful strikes and sweeping attacks in her Focus Stance.

“Practicing an artistic and deadly form of martial arts, the Glaivier slices and dices her way through the battlefield, weaving together attacks with her spear and glaive. The Glaivier has two distinct skill sets which can be swapped between— Focus and Flurry— with each stance and skill set represented by one of her two weapons.”

As a Melee Damage dealer, the Glaivier is a very strong class when you’re able to manage both stances with the Pinnacle Build. Even if you find yourself only running the single-stance Control Build, you’ll still be an effective damage dealer though you’ll be reliant on your positioning for max damage.

Lost Ark Glaivier Class Guide for Beginners (1)

The Glaivier has a total of 20 skills, 14 of which are Flurry Stance Skills and 6 are Focus Stance skills. You’re able to use 8 Flurry Stance Skills and 5 Focus Stance skills. This means at most you’ll be using 13 skills when playing both stances.

The Flurry Stance focuses on quick attacks, mobility, and utility. These skills mostly have shorter cooldowns, but there are a few that have longer cooldowns which are damage heavy skills.

The Focus Stance focuses on very powerful attacks that have longer cooldowns. The Focus Stance does have a bit of mobility and utility to it, but not as much as the Flurry Stance.

A large part of the Glaivier’s Damage will be dealt in the Flurry Stance, but Focus Skills tend to hit much harder, making them about equal overall.

Glaivier Party Synergy Effect

The Glaivier’s Party Synergy is called Critical Spear and is found only in the Third Row Tripods for the Shackling Blue Dragon skill in the Flurry Stance.

This debuff reduces a foe’s Critical Resistance by 3-18% based on the level of the Shackling Blue Dragon Skill, and whether or not the Critical Spear Tripod is taken. The effect lasts for 6 seconds when applied

With the longer cooldown of this skill, it’ll be crucial to use it when your full rotation is ready for maximum Damage. Look to use it when your support is also buffing your damage to get even more out of it.

Glaivier Stat Priority

Specialization

Specialization helps the Glaivier to build their meter, which helps you the most prior to getting a class engraving, or if you choose to go for the Pinnacle Class Engraving, which utilizes both stances. It’s less important to the Control Class Engraving setup however as you won’t stance swap at all but can still speed up how quickly you build your meter.

Swiftness

Swiftness is the preferred stat for the Control Class Engraving, as you’ll want to keep your skills rotating easier and faster to deal with consistent DPS. It’s also the go-to secondary stat for the Pinnacle Build for similar reason, thougb with more skills, there’s less need to make them all rotate faster.

Crit

While the Glaivier gets a good amount of Crit Rate from their Synergy Skill, gear and Tripods, Crit can still be worth getting on your Necklace at the very least. This extra bit of Crit helps you be as close to 100% Crit as you can be with other party synergy skills without over-capping. You may also need more of it early on, while not really needing it at all later on.

Glaivier Engravings

Glaivier Class Engravings

Below are the two class engravings available for the Glaivier. Each of these engravings offers a unique playstyle for the Glaivier. Which one you use is completely up to your preference, both are viable options.

Lost Ark Glaivier Class Guide for Beginners (2) Control

“Cannot use Focus Stance. Flurry Skill Damage is increased by 18%/27%/36%.”

The Control Engraving limits you to just your Glaive and its respective Flurry Stance and boosts the damage of Flurry Skills. This build is much more reliant on Positional attacks, as opposed to what Pinnacle Offers.

Lost Ark Glaivier Class Guide for Beginners (3) Pinnacle

“Adds Pinnacle Flurry/Focus 1/2/3 instead of the Flurry/Focus Stage 3 effects upon changing stances while the Dual Meter is maxed at Level 3.”

The Pinnacle Engraving empowers their Identity Meter, making the Stance Swap bonuses even better when swapping with a full Dual Meter. Overall, this increases your Move Speed, Attack Speed, Damage, Crit Chance, and Crit Damage, depending on the Stance Swap.

Both Swaps gain Damage Increases, 15% when swapping to Flurry and 20% When Swapping to Focus. Switching from Flurry to Focus Grants 15% Movement Speed and 50% Crit Damage. Switching from Focus to Flurry grants 15% Attack Speed and 25% Crit Chance.

Recommended Battle Engravings for Glaivier

Below is a list of recommended Engravings you can slot into a Glaivier Build. These will help set you on the right path to properly building out your Glaivier effectively. As such, if an engraving functions better for a specific build, it will be noted.

Due to Glaivier’s access to various buffs alongside their typical stats, there are a number of really good Engravings that are worth considering. These are options outside of the widely recommended and more advanced engravings of Grudge and Cursed Doll.

If you want additional information on the Engravings listed below, check out our Guide on Lost Ark’s Engraving System.

Lost Ark Glaivier Class Guide for Beginners (4) Adrenaline

With plenty of low cooldowns and easy Crit Rate boost in skills, this can help you Crit Consistently while going through Tiers 1 and 2. It can also further reduce the need to pick up Crit as a stat on accessories. Low cooldowns make it really easy to stack and maintain this Engraving, which provides both damage and a slight bit of Crit Rate when fully stacked. This is a strong option for the Control Build that doesn’t gain additional Crit Chance from swapping stances.

Lost Ark Glaivier Class Guide for Beginners (5) Keen Blunt Weapon

This is a great Engraving when you’re able to reach around 60% Crit Rate or more. Once you get into Tier 3, you’ll be able to get this really easily with just your Gear set, Synergy Skill, and other skill bonuses. This increases your damage, and between all the bonuses mentioned above, it’s really easy to hit the recommended threshold to use this Engraving.

Lost Ark Glaivier Class Guide for Beginners (6) Raid Captain

Since this class often uses Swiftness as a Primary or secondary stat, alongside additional bonuses to movement speed in their kit, this can be a worthwhile pick up as well for increased damage. This scales with Movement Speed, up to its hard cap of 140% movement speed, which provides 18% damage at this cap. This is only recommended for use with the Pinnacle Build, as most of your movement speed will come from Stance Swap Buffs.

You can also use Spirit Absorption Engraving to reach the necessary bonus movement speed.

Lost Ark Glaivier Class Guide for Beginners (7) Increases Mass

If you’re playing both stances, you’ll have decent access to a buff that boosts your attack speed, which negates the penalty of this engraving. This reduces your attack speed, but grants increased damage.

Similar to helping to activate Raid Captain’s bonus or max it out, the penalty of this engraving can be offset by Spirit Absorption to make this a bonus.

Lost Ark Glaivier Class Guide for Beginners (8) Ambush Master

This helps to really push the damage output of the Control Build, so long as you’re able to maintain your positioning to deliver Back Attacks. Pinnacle is less focused on Positional Attacks, and would rather use other options listed above.

Glaivier Skills Overview and Recommendations

While the skills won’t be fully detailed to the number as damage values change with your stats, we will give a rough approximation of how much damage they can do. This is also affected decently by Skill Tripods, and those cases will be noted.

There will also be a lot of mentions of added Stagger, Weak Point, and Super Armor. If you’re not familiar with these terms, we’ve explained them in more detail in our Advanced Combat Mechanics Guide. We recommend referring to that guide, to help with the terminology below.

Lost Ark Glaivier Class Guide for Beginners (9) 4-Headed Dragon (Focus)

“Thrust your spear 8 times in front of you, inflicting medium damage per hit, followed by a finishing thrust that inflicts very high Damage.

This is a damage heavy skill due to its quick animation. It can optionally be used for Meter building, but your other Focus skills will be capable of building your meter better.

  • Skill Type: Normal
  • Attack Type: Back Attack
  • Cooldown: 16 seconds

First Row Tripods

Firepower Control

  • Effect: Increases Dual Meter Gain by 30-45%
  • Recommendation: With this being a multi-hit skill, this tripod along with a Wealth rune can generate a good amount of your meter very quickly. Even without the rune, it should prove to be a strong option. Though for raw damage purposes, Speartip Thrust works better.

Swift Fingers

  • Effect: Increases Attack Speed by 15-27%
  • Recommendation: As far as damage-boosting options go, Swift Fingers can be an okay option. However, Speartip Thrust provides much more DPS overall. It’s a fairly quick skill already without this

Speartip Thrust

  • Effect: Increases Crit Rate by 30-60%
  • Recommendation: Alongside gear and your own synergy skill, just gives just enough for the skill to always crit in the late game without any investment in tripods.

Second Row Tripods

Violent Thrust

  • Effect: Changes Skill to Holding Mode. Holding Damage is increased by 50-80% and you can move while holding.
  • Recommendation: This Tripod is actually a good boost in damage, making it highly worth considering, as the holding duration is roughly two-thirds of the full skill’s damage.

The Last Spear

  • Effect: Increases 4-Headed Dragon’s Cast Speed. The final attack deals 100% increased damage and knocks back foes.
  • Recommendation: This reduces the skill’s wind-up time and empowers the final hit to deal roughly the same amount as the full holding duration which ends up adding around an additional 25% damage. However, Violent Thrust is a better option for overall damage, and Shadow Thrust is a better option for comfort.

Shadow Thrust

  • Effect: Allows you to move after the first hit, leaving an Afterimage to finish the attack.
  • Recommendation: This Tripod makes the skill feel closer to a Point-cast skill. You place it, and it does its damage while you deal more damage on top of that. It’s great because you’re not locked in place and can continue with the rest of your rotation.

Third Row Tripods

Quick Prep

  • Effect: Reduces 4-Headed Dragon’s cooldown by 6-8 seconds.
  • Recommendation: It’s weird to see this as a third-row option, but this does reduce the cooldown of the skill by a good amount with the max level of this tripod halving the duration of the cooldown. It can help extend your rotations a bit, but Infected Wound just offers far more damage making it a stronger option

Infected Wound

  • Effect: Inflicts a bleed that deals low damage every second for 7 seconds. Stacks up to 7 times.
  • Recommendation: Despite the base bleed damage being low, if the full skill hits, it’ll be adding a significant amount of damage to the skill as it stacks up. At full stacks, it’s capable of dealing high damage over its duration.

Lost Ark Glaivier Class Guide for Beginners (10) Blue Dragon’s Claw (Flurry)

“Move 4 meters forward, inflicting low damage, then spin your spear to inflict low damage 6 times and retreat 3 meters. Airborne foes are launched in the air again when hit.”

This skill often ends up being more of a PvP option than a PvE one. It still can be used in PvE, but would mostly only be a utility skill. The biggest thing for PvE is that it doesn’t get anything that would be beneficial to raiding until Level 7, in its Second Row of Tripods.

  • Skill Type: Normal
  • Attack Type: Back Attack
  • Super Armor: Paralysis Immunity (Level 1)
  • Cooldown: 14 seconds

First Row Tripods

Ready Defense

  • Effect: Incoming damage is reduced by 40-51.6% during skill use.
  • Recommendation: This can be a bit of extra utility for PvE, but most attacks you’d want to reduce are going to knock you out of the skill. This is still helpful for harder single-hit attacks, but a multi-hit attack has a good chance of interrupting you.

Magick Control

(Video) Glaivier BEGINNER GUIDE | Lost Ark Class Guide

  • Effect: Reduces MP cost by 50-67%
  • Recommendation: This can be helpful as the skill can be quite costly to use. It’s not mandatory but if you use this skill and find yourself running out of mana often because of it, it can be worth grabbing.

Defenseless Target

  • Effect: Increases damage to pushed foes by 30-60%.
  • Recommendation: Combining this Tripod with Flurry Expertise can make this a great option for Chaos Dungeons. Even by itself, it’s great for giving you another tool to clear weak foes.

Second Row Tripods

Firepower Control

  • Effect: Increases Dual Meter gain by 50-75%
  • Recommendation: Being a Multi-hit skill, this has the potential to be a worthwhile pick up since it is a stronger version of Firepower Control than most skills get. If paired with a Wealth Rune, it can potentially generate a ton of Dual Meter.

Undisturbed

  • Effect: Allows the skill to be canceled by moving or using another skill.
  • Recommendation: This is another good PvP tool, allowing you to cancel the skill without burning your dodge to cancel it. It can be useful in PvE as well for the same reason, but will often lead to you unintentionally canceling the skill more often as well.

Flurry Expertise

  • Effect: Increases single target damage by 30-60%. This bonus is reduced to 5-30% while hitting 2 targets, 10-35% while hitting 5 targets, and 15-45% while hitting 10 targets.
  • Recommendation: This is a unique Tripod that rewards you for hitting single targets or large crowds. It’s very lackluster against any number in between prior to getting Tripod levels and it offers very little. If you do get Tripod levels, it becomes a very flexible Tripod being great for bossing and decent for mobbing.

Third Row Tripods

Spinning Lightning

  • Effect: Rapidly slash the spear left and right while standing in place and spin to land more strikes. Damage is increased by 50-83.0%.
  • Recommendation: This removes the mobility portion of the skill to increase the damage output of the skill. If you really want to use this in PvE, I’d go for this option as you have stronger mobility skills already.

Charge Attack

  • Effect: Charge Distance is increased by 2 Meters. AoE Radius is increased by 20%. Adds a finishing swing that deals 30-60% increased damage.
  • Recommendation: This trades the damage potential of Spinning Lightning for extra mobility and less damage. It’s not a terrible option if you wanted the extra mobility, but worse in terms of damage.

Lost Ark Glaivier Class Guide for Beginners (11) Chain Slash (Flurry)

“Strike upward with your spear to inflict low Damage and launch foes into the air then slash with your spear while advancing 3 meters forward, inflicting low damage Damage. Afterward, slash 2 times in the opposite direction, inflicting low Damage with each slash. Airborne foes are launched in the air again when hit.”

This skill is primarily used as a mobility tool. While it’s not super great mobility initially, one of the First Row Tripods makes it a great mobility option. It also ends up being a good source of damage for the Control Build.

  • Skill Type: Normal
  • Attack Type: Back Attack
  • Stagger: Low (Level 1)
  • Weak Point: Level 1
  • Cooldown: 10 seconds

First Row Tripods

Triple Threat

  • Effect: Skill changes to Combo Mode. Advance forward quickly and quietly up to 3 times and perform a cross slash. Total Damage is increased by 20-46%
  • Recommendation: Combo Mode ends up slowing this skill down quite a bit, which ultimately makes the extra damage provided by this tripod to be less effective. It does improve mobility very slightly, but Swoop works better for that purpose.

Swoop

  • Effect: Travel distance is increased to 6 meters, but attack count is reduced to 1. Grants Paralysis Immunity (Level 1 Super Armor). Total Damage is unchanged.
  • Recommendation: This trades the damage of the skill for more mobility and Super Armor. Since this tripod doesn’t level, it makes it a very consistent mobility option. While it comes at the cost of damage, the Pinnacle Build doesn’t often use this for more than mobility.

Fatal Strike

  • Effect: Dash forward and spin your spear, hitting foes 4 times paralyzing them. Damage is increased by 15%.
  • Recommendation: This works the opposite of Swoop, keeping the move distance the same, but gaining more damage output. This makes it great for the Control Build, which uses this skill for damage instead of mobility.

Second Row Tripods

Final Decision

  • Effect: Consumes 20% of your Dual Meter to increase damage by 60-96%. Does not apply if skill is used with less than 20% meter.
  • Recommendation: This Tripod is more or less specific to the Control Build for Glaivier, as it’s the way they take advantage of having no stance swap. You spend your Dual Meter to boost the damage of individual skills via this Tripod. This ends up being a good choice for that build, being a strong multi-hit skill with both Stagger and Weak Point on it.

Concussion

  • Effect: Increases Stagger level to Mid-High (Level 4)
  • Recommendation: This simply increases the stagger power of the skill, which isn’t often necessary, as you’re giving up damage to do so for one build, and the other reduces the number of times the skill hits making it less effective overall.

Captive Target

  • Effect: Attack Speed is increased by 10%. Damage to pushed foes is increased by 40-70%.
  • Recommendation: While the Attack Speed is nice, the damage bonus only applies to weak foes. This makes it worse for overall damage compared to Final Decision.

Third Row Tripods

Weak Point Detection

  • Effect: Damage to Push-Immune foes is increased by 60-96%.
  • Recommendation: This is a decent general option for raiding, but the bonus damage will not apply to any weak mobs spawned by a boss, or prior to a boss.

Brilliant Spear

  • Effect: Swing your Spear to send an energy wave forward 8 Meters to Paralyze foes. Damage is increased by 60-96%
  • Recommendation: This makes the attack have a ranged component, while still offering the same damage bonus as Weak Point Detection. This ranged component actually ends up doubling the hits when used in melee range. So this ultimately provides more damage overall.

Lost Ark Glaivier Class Guide for Beginners (12) Cutting Wind (Flurry)

“Move 8 meters forward past foes to inflict medium Damage 3 times and return to your position, inflicting medium Damage.”

This skill works similarly to Deathblade’s Moonlight Sonic, where it moves you a short distance to deal damage and then puts you back to your starting location. It makes it a good option for damage and does decent AoE Damage.

First Row Tripods

Quick Prep

  • Effect: Reduces cooldown by 5-7 seconds.
  • Recommendation: With this being one of the longer Flurry Stance skills, this Tripod helps a lot to bring its cooldown closer to the rest of the Flurry Skills and smooth out rotations using this skill. While it is a multi-hit skill, it’s not too great of a meter generator and better for pure damage. You could still take it and see if you find it to be a more comfortable option over another skill.

Sturdy Armor

  • Effect: Reduces incoming damage by 20% during skill use.
  • Recommendation: Outside of PvP, the other two options will perform better. This can have some niche use in PvP but may not be necessary due to the amount of Swiftness you’ll typically have.

Second Row Tripods

Company of War

  • Effect: Your clone charges forward, inflicting damage before returning and disappearing.
  • Recommendation: This essentially removes the movement component by having a clone do the attack for you. It’ll still do the full damage, leaving only the reduced mobility as the only drawback.

Valor

  • Effect: Changes the skill to Holding Mode. AoE Radius is increased 20%, Damage increased by 50%. Skill can be held for up to 2.5 seconds before ending.
  • Recommendation: This is the strongest option for DPS in this row. This makes the skill a holding skill, but in exchange boosts the damage by a good amount. It can be a bit tricky to get the most damage out of this with some bosses, specifically more mobile ones.

Quickness

  • Effect: AoE Radius is reduced by 20%. Performs a single strike before returning to your original position.
  • Recommendation: This reduces the outgoing damage in exchange for making it a quick attack. This is some room to be useful for PvP, as quicker attacks can be useful for catching people, or just quick mobility. In this case, since you go back to where you started, it’s more of a catch tool if you did use it.

Third Row Tripods

Enhanced Strike

  • Effect: Damage is increased by 30-60%. This is increased to 160-220% for Challenge and Lower foes.
  • Recommendation: This is purely a Leveling or Chaos Dungeon Tripod. Since in both cases, most of the enemies you face will be Challenge or Lower. It makes it a great tool for clearing large groups.

Weak Point Detection

  • Effect: Damage to Push-Immune foes is increased by 60-96%.
  • This is your best raiding option, providing a significant damage increase. Since all raid bosses are Push immune, it will be a consistent damage increase.

Lost Ark Glaivier Class Guide for Beginners (13) Double Strike (Flurry)

“Strike with your spear 2 times, inflicting 81 and 122 Damage.”

This is a very basic damage skill and really doesn’t have much going on for it in terms of tripods to make it useful for damage output beyond simply being a filler while leveling.

  • Skill Type: Normal
  • Attack Type: Back Attack
  • Cooldown: 6 seconds

First Row Tripods

Flame Slash

  • Effect: Element is now Fire. Hits burn the foe dealing very low damage every second for 5 seconds.
  • Recommendation: The damage this Tripod provides very little bonus damage, as unlike most other burn effects, there is no stacking mechanic. This means it will be a very mediocre source of additional damage, despite being able to potentially have 100% uptime on it.

Frost Slash

  • Effect: Element is now Water. Inflicts Frost on hit, reducing target’s movement speed by 30-46% for 5 seconds.
  • Recommendation: This has some limited use in PvP, if you choose to use this skill. Outside of that, there’s very little that a slow will do for you in PvE.

Earth Slash

  • Effect: Element is now Earth. Damage to Challenge and Lower foes is increased by 20-45%. Adds Low Stagger (Level 1).
  • Recommendation: Usually the skills that have additional damage to Challenge or lower are decent options for Chaos Dungeon. However this one is a weaker effect without further investment into the skill.

Second Row Tripods

Sharper Follow-Up

  • Effect: Gathers power into an Upward strike, knocking foes airborne.
  • Recommendation: This Tripod can make this skill a decent combo extender in PvP, but outside of that isn’t too useful.

Final Decision

  • Effect: Consumes 20% of the Dual Meter to increase damage by 60-96%. Does not apply if Dual Meter is not at least 20% charged.
  • Recommendation: This would make the skill do a decent amount of damage if you wanted to use it in the Control Build. There are still better options, but you could make it work.

Flurry Expertise

  • Effect: Increases single target damage by 30%. This bonus is reduced to 5% while hitting 2 targets, 10% while hitting 5 targets, and 15% while hitting at least 10 targets.

Airsplitter

  • Effect: AoE Radius is increased by 20% and leaves energy behind with the last strike that inflicts 50% increased damage and knocks foes airborne.
  • Recommendation: This adds a bit of extra damage to the skill. It’s not really enough to justify taking the skill to level 10 for, but it helps a little with the damage output of the skill.

Elemental Smite

  • Effect: Changes the the skill to Combo Mode, adding a finishing strike and increasing damage by 60%. Flame and Frost Slash effects are increased by 100%. Earth Slash now deals 100% increased damage to Challenge and Lower foes. Increases Stagger of Eartch Slash to Mid (Level 3).
  • Recommendation: This also adds a bit of extra damage, but is really only worthwhile if you’re using Earth Slash. Increaseing the effects of Flame Slash or Frost Slash are not worth spending this many points. At least with Earth Slash you get additional stagger, making it a decent stagger skill with a low cooldown.

Lost Ark Glaivier Class Guide for Beginners (14) Dragonscale Defense (Focus)

“Block attacks from the front with your spear, negating Damage up to 50-140% of your Max HP. If you successfully block an attack within 1.1s, thrust your spear forward for high Damage 2 times.”

This skill is used primarily to block heavy-hitting attacks. While it can do some damage, it’s better used for its utility.

  • Skill Type: Normal
  • Attack Type: Front Attack
  • Stagger: Mid (Level 3)
  • Super Armor: Push Immunity (Level 2)
  • Cooldown: 20 seconds

First Row Tripods

Magick Control

  • Effect: MP cost is reduced by 50-67%.
  • Recommendation: While this skill has a high MP cost, it won’t be getting used often enough to really want to reduce its cost. it can be a nice option if you don’t find much use in Steady Belief.

Steady Belief

  • Effect: Counter window is increased by 0.1 seconds.
  • Recommendation: Despite the minimal value, this gives, this is typically the better option in this row. Since this isn’t a skill you heavily invest in. Even so, this will likely be a Tripod you’d pick up as a filler when you only have the 4 points to spare for it.

Firepower Control

  • Effect: Increases Dual Meter gain by 30-45%
  • Recommendation: Given this skill requires you to be hit for this tripod to even work, it’s often not worth taking. Since the resulting attack hits only twice, it’ll never be too helpful or reliable as a meter generator.

Second Row Tripods

Mind Destruction

  • Effect: Inflicts Stun on hit, which lasts 3-5 seconds. Duration halved in PvP
  • Recommendation: If used properly this can be a decent bit of utility for PvP, being able to block an attack and retaliate with heavy damage and a stun.

Vital Point Attack

  • Effect: Thrust Attacks will always Critically Strike.
  • Recommendation: This will make the already high base damage hit even harder. It can be a half-decent investment if you find yourself with spare points.

Absolute Defense

  • Effect: Can Now Block attacks that inflict Status effects. Thrust Damage increased by 20%-45.
  • Recommendation: This essentially upgrades your Super Armor from Level 2 to Level 3. It can be a very worthwhile defensive upgrade if you find yourself using this skill to block certain attacks.

Third Row Tripods

Enhanced Technique

  • Effect: Spear thrust attack distance is increased by 5 meters and width is increased by 1 Meter.
  • Recommendation: This increases the range and width of the thrust attack, which is not at all necessary. The skill’s default range and width are more than good for most use cases.

Attack Precision

  • Effect: Thrust Attack count +1. Damage is increased by 50-83%.
  • Recommendation: This adds a third attack, and increases the damage a fair bit. While this skill carries both high base damage and a tripod that guarantees a crit, this extra bit of damage is not worth the skill point investment.

Lost Ark Glaivier Class Guide for Beginners (15) Flash Kick (Flurry)

“Use your spear as a lever to advance 7 meters forward, inflicting low Damage 3 times, followed by a strong kick that inflicts medium Damage.”

This skill is typically only used for mobility purposes. It’s not a huge source of damage even if you try to make it that way, but offers plenty of mobility options. Its innate Super Armor makes it hard to interrupt, even in PvP, contributing further to it being a good mobility skill.

  • Skill Type: Normal
  • Attack Type: Back Attack
  • Super Armor: Paralysis Immunity (level 1)

First Row Tripods

Excellent Mobility

(Video) Glaivier Starter Guide (2022) | Lost Ark

  • Effect: Move distance is increased by 2-4 meters.
  • Recommendation: This Tripod extends the distance this skill will help you move, which makes it a very good pick up. As this will help a ton by avoiding damage or repositioning. It’s going to be the go-to for this row.

Concussion

  • Effect: Adds Low (Level 1) Stagger.
  • Recommendation: While being a multi-hit skill, Level 1 Stagger isn’t going to make too big of a difference over what it naturally has.

Magick Control

  • Effect: MP cost is reduced by 50-67%
  • Recommendation: While the skill does have a relatively low cooldown, it’s not too costly to use even off cooldown. It’s typically better to just increase the mobility with Excellent Mobility, rather than reduce its cost.

Second Row Tripods

Stun Effect

  • Effect: Cooldown Increased by 4 seconds. Applies a Stun that lasts 3-4 seconds. Stun Duration halved in PvP.
  • Recommendation: While the stun is reduced in PvP, it’s still a great PvP option. This makes it so you can use Flash Kick as an engagement tool, being a decent range attack that will result in a stun. This allows you to immediately go right into a combo afterward.

Weak Point Detection

  • Effect: Damage to Push-Immune foes is increased by 30-60%.
  • Recommendation: While this can add a fair bit of damage against bosses, it’s not worth the investment because it’s still very little total gain.

Final Decision

  • Effect: Consumes 20% of Dual Meter to increase damage by 60-96%. Effect does not apply if Dual Meter is less than 20% charged.
  • Recommendation: Similar to Weak Point Detection, there are better options for damage in other skills. There are far stronger skills that also have this tripod and use it much better. If anything this tends to be a decent meter builder due to being multi-hit.

Third Row Tripods

Corkscrew

  • Effect: Increases damage by 50% and AoE Radius by 20%. Adds Low Stagger (Level 1), Stagger is increased to Mid (Level 3) if using Concussion.
  • Recommendation: This would be really good if it were a Second Row Tripod, as trading a bit of mobility for a bit of extra stagger could help in rare cases. However, since it’s in the third row it’s not as great due to the high investment for the same trade off.

Air Raid

  • Effect: Changes Skill to Point Mode. Jump to a target location within 8 meters to inflict damage.
  • Recommendation: This gives you less mobility compared to Excellent Mobility which makes it pretty bad for PvE. However, in PvP this is the type of mobility that can help you the most, especially when paired with an added Stun.

Lost Ark Glaivier Class Guide for Beginners (16) Half Moon Slash (Flurry)

“Drag your spear across the ground while moving forward, inflicting low Damage 2 times, followed by a diagonal upward slash that inflicts medium Damage twice. Hit foes are launched in the air.”

This skill is a really solid option for dealing damage, as it has plenty of great tripods to make use of regardless of your build. It’s also got options that make it great for both single-target and mobbing use. It’s also packed with Stagger and Weak Point making a strong option for both cases.

  • Skill Type: Normal
  • Attack Type: Back Attack
  • Weak Point: Level 2
  • Stagger: Mid (level 3)
  • Super Armor: Paralysis Immunity (Level 1)

First Row Tripods

Flurry Expertise

  • Effect: Increases single target damage by 20%. This bonus is reduced to 3% while hitting 2 targets, 7% while hitting 5 targets, and 15% while hitting 10 or more targets.
This is typically the go-to for this skill’s first row options, as it’s the strongest damage option.

Stretch

  • Effect: Increases AoE Radius by 20%.
  • Recommendation: While this could be useful for mobbing, Flurry Expertise’s Damage or Spin Upper Slash’s pull effect will typically do more for you in the long run. However if you choose to also use Blade of Tornado, this can also be a viable mobbing option.

Spin Upper Slash

  • Effect: Adds a third spin attack that pulls targets in before the launching attack. Damage is increased by 20-46%.
  • Recommendation: This can be great for mobbing, as the pull effect can ensure it hits enemies that are just out of range. This will make it a bit more consistent in that regard.

Second Row Tripods

Weak Point Detection

  • Effect: Increases Crit Rate against Push-Immune foes by 30-60%.
  • Recommendation: While this offers quite a bit of Crit Rate, you’ll typically have more than enough from a combination of gears, other buffs in your kit, and other effects. This will frequently over-cap your crit rate, which means it goes to waste.

Double Upper Slash

  • Effect: Adds a second Upper Slash that deals low damage, keeping the target airborne longer.
  • Recommendation: This can be a niche PvP option to help extend combos, but would rarely ever be useful in PvE.

Final Decision

  • Effect: Consumes 20% of the Dual Meter to increase damage by 60%. The effect does not apply if Dual Meter is less than 20% charged.
  • Recommendation: This is the best damage option of this row. Despite consuming your meter, your Flurry Meter is typically really easy to build up in a proper build. So regardless of the build you use, this remains a very strong choice. If you find yourself not being able to reliably build meter, consider Weak Point Detection instead.

Third Row Tripods

Chasing Slash

  • Effect: Changes skill to Holding Mode. Charge Forward dealing low damage. Perform the Upper Slash on release.
  • Recommendation: This typically reduces the overall hit count and damage of the skill. It often requires a max Level Tripod to even be entirely useful.

Blade of Tornado

  • Effect: Creates a Whirlwind with the upwards strike that deals low damage. Stretch Increases the AoE of the Whirlwind, Double Upper Slash sends the Whirlwind forward.
  • Recommendation: While this doesn’t seem like an improvement, this actually greatly increases this skill’s damage against less mobile targets. This is because the Whirlwind will hit several times, which can easily do more damage than the rest of the skill does.

Lost Ark Glaivier Class Guide for Beginners (17) Raging Dragon Slash (Flurry)

“Enlarge your spear and spin 360 degrees to inflict very high Damage, knocking foes back.”

This skill is typically one of your go-to damage skills on Glaivier. With it being a high damage sweeping attack, it makes it great for both bossing and a mobbing.

  • Skill Type: Normal
  • Attack Type: Back Attack
  • Super Armor: Paralysis Immunity (Level 1)

First Row Tripods

Flame Slash

  • Effect: Element is now Fire. On hit, inflicts a Burn that deals very low damage every second for 5 seconds. Can be stacked up to 5 times
  • Recommendation: Being the only damage option still isn’t enough to make this a strong enough choice. The damage it provides is minimal, even when stacked. A full stacked burn ends up dealing less than the initial hit, unlike most other stackable burn effects.

Frost Slash

  • Effect: Element is now Water. Paralyzes foes instead of knocking them away. Inflict Frost on hit, reducing foes move speed by 20%. At two frost stacks, freezes for 2 seconds.
  • Recommendation: This can be a decent PvP option, especially if you also pick up Awaken or Additional Slash. This is because they will allow the skill to fully stack Frost with a single use of the skill.

Quick Prep

  • Effect: Reduces cooldown by 5-7 seconds.
  • Recommendation: This is typically the go-to for the first row. This aligns the skill’s cooldown much closer to other Flurry Stance skills.

Second Row Tripods

Additional Slash

  • Effect: Changes skill to Combo Mode. Adds a Dash followed by a second swing that swings behind you. Damage is increased by 40%
  • Recommendation: Paired with Frost Slash, this is a decent option for PvP. Even without it can make the skill a bit more reliable to use in a PvP setting. In PvE, it’s not that great of an option.

Quick Slash

  • Effect: Reduces AoE Radius by 20%. Attack time is reduced by 0.6 seconds. Increases damage by 20%.
  • Recommendation: This replaces the sweeping attack with a quick frontal slash, which increases its damage and makes it a much faster attack overall. The extra damage is also very nice, as it doesn’t come with a punishment of slowing the skill way down like Precise Slash.

Precise Slash

  • Effect: Increases attack wind-up by 1.3 seconds. Increases damage by 80-120%.
  • Recommendation: While this is a huge damage boost, it can make the skill much less reliable as it will significantly slow down the attack. This often makes it an unfavorable choice over Quick Slash, which makes it a more consistent skill.

Third Row Tripods

Unyielding Spirit

  • Effect: During Skill use, grants Push Immunity (Super Armor Level 2) and reduce incoming damage by 30-40%.
  • Recommendation: This can be a decent PvP option due to the Super Armor effect. The damage reduction also is a strong benefit too, but depending on your other choice of tripods, it can be useful as well.

Awaken

  • Effect: Creates a dragon along the path of your swing, adding 3 additional hits. Damage is increased by 50-83%, Crit Rate is increased by 25%.
  • Recommendation: This is the go-to option for PvE, as the extra damage this pumps out is pretty high. In addition to increased damage, it also grants crit rate, making it crit very consistently in later stages of gearing.

Lost Ark Glaivier Class Guide for Beginners (18) Red Dragon’s Horn (Focus)

“Hold the skill hotkey to focus your mind and gather energy, then aim and thrust your spear toward a foe within a 12 meter radius at a 90-degree angle, inflicting high damage. Hit the perfect Zone to extend the attack range up to 16 meters, inflicting very high Damage and knocking foes back.”

This is an incredibly strong skill. Considering it’d be used during your buff windows after a stance swap, that just further empowers how strong of a skill it is. While holding skills can be a bit weird if you’re not used to them, this is easily worth that slight adjustment.

  • Skill Type: Holding
  • Attack Type: Back Attack
  • Super Armor: Paralysis Immunity (Level 1)

First Row Tripods

Reaction Speed

  • Effect: Hold or charge speed increased by 30%.
  • Recommendation: This is a decent comfort option that can make using the skill easier. However, it’s not the greatest option overall for this row.

Firepower Control

  • Effect: Increases Dual meter gain by 30-45%
  • Recommendation: Being a single-hit skill, it’s not really worth going for this as there are stronger meter generating skills in your Focus Stance.

Quick Prep

  • Effect: Reduces Cooldown by 5-8 seconds.
  • Recommendation: This is usually the go-to options since it can bring your cooldown for this skill closer to, those in the Flurry Stance. This helps smooth out damage rotations.

Second Row Tripods

Determination

  • Effect: Increases Damage by 15%. Perfect Zone Damage increased by 40%.
  • Recommendation: While this is a great bonus to have, there’s a much better and more consistent bonus in this row of tripods.

Evolving Technique

  • Effect: Changes the skill to Charge Mode. Able to turn 360 degrees while charging. When attacking or charging, the damage is increased by 30-58%. Overcharging deals 150-183% of Perfect Zone Damage.
  • Recommendation: Making the skill a Holding Skill instead of charge can feel terrible at times. For the small damage increase this offers, it’s not worth the trade-off of speed.

Spear of Destruction

  • Effect: Spear Thrust width reduced by 50%. Attack will always Critically Strike.
  • Recommendation: While this makes the attack more narrow, this is hardly a penalty. In return, you get doubled damage from the skill being a guaranteed crit. This Tripod is what makes this skill a very strong damage option due to the skill always critically striking on top of its high base damage.

Third Row Tripods

Weak Point Detection

  • Effect: Increases damage to Named or Higher foes by 60-96%.
  • Recommendation: For the third row, this is the most consistent option for damage. While you’d think the other tripod is a stronger option, it’s made much weaker by strict requirements and poor scaling.

Aiming Distance

  • Effect: Increases Critical Damage by 100-160% when hitting a foe at Max skill range.
  • Recommendation: You would think this would be a strong PvE option, but it’s really not. The distance of the skill while hitting the perfect zone would force you to stance swap and use all of your mobility to get back within the melee range of your target. While you do have one movement option in Focus, it alone will not cover the distance.

Lost Ark Glaivier Class Guide for Beginners (19) Shackling Blue Dragon (Flurry)

“Spin your spear where you stand and strike down with force, creating a shockwave that inflicts high Damage. Foes hit by this skill lose 3-8% of their Crit Resistance for 6s.”

Shackling Blue Dragon is your only synergy skill, and it’s quite potent when you invest in it to get the Critical Spear Tripod, which increases the Crit Resistance debuff by an additional 10%.

  • Skill Type: Normal
  • Weak Point: Level 1
  • Stagger: Low (Level 1)
  • Cooldown: 24 seconds

First Row Tripods

Weak Point Enhancement

  • Effect: Increases Weak point by one level, to Level 2.
  • Recommendation: With it having a long cooldown and only primarily being a synergy skill, this won’t provide much benefit. There are better options for Weak Point that are much more reliable.

Concussion

  • Effect: Increases Stagger to Mid (level 3).
  • Recommendation: Similar to Weak Point Enhancement, this isn’t going to provide much benefit on a single hit skill with a long cooldown. You have better stagger options in both Flurry and Focus Stances.

Quick Prep

  • Effect: Reduces skill cooldown by 2-5 seconds.
  • Recommendation: This is the go-to option for this row of Tripods. As your synergy skill, you want this up as often as possible. Even though this is a small decrease in cooldown, it means more overall uptime for the debuff.

Second Row Tripods

Blitz

  • AoE Radius is reduced by 20%. Only performs the downward strike.
  • This is typically the go-to tripod for this row. It speeds up the cast animation while limiting the AoE. As a Melee class, this will not be an issue to be able to apply this debuff.

Ground-Breaker

  • Effect: Element is now Earth. On hit, enemies are afflicted with Earthquake.
  • Recommendation: Considering this is the only option that doesn’t speed up the use of this skill, it tends to be weaker. It can still be slightly useful in Chaos Dungeons where the extra crowd control can be useful.

Falling Spear

  • Effect: AoE Radius reduced by 20%. Changes skill to Point Mode, dropping a Spear at target location.
  • Recommendation: Similar to Blitz, this will speed up the use of this skill. While it doesn’t speed it up as much, it does however allow it to be used at range. This can be useful for some encounters, but typically Blitz will be the preferred option so you can immediately go right into DPS.

Third Row Tripods

Critical Spear

  • Effect: On hit, foe Crit Resistance is reduced by 10%.
  • Recommendation: This is a mandatory pick-up for this skill. It more than doubles the effectiveness of the basic synergy on the skill, which not only helps you but your team as well.

Final Decision

  • Effect: Consumes 25% of your Dual Meter to increase damage by 140-190%. This effect does not apply if the skill is used while you have less than 25% Dual Meter.
  • Recommendation: Despite the temptingly high damage this tripod offers, it’s not as valuable at the extra ~10% Crit Rate offered by Critical Spear. In addition it requires a charged Dual Meter to use, making it unusable. This is because you’ll typically open most of your rotations with this skill, so all the skills in the next 6 seconds benefit from its effects.

Lost Ark Glaivier Class Guide for Beginners (20) Soul Cutter (Flurry)

“Slide forward 3 meters and swing your spear to inflict low Damage before immediately going back 4 meters and crouching down. Use the skill again to charge forward 4 meters and inflict low Damage 2 times, then quickly swing your spear to the left and right for one final strike that inflicts low Damage 4 times. Airborne foes are launched in the air again when hit.”

(Video) New Class: Glaivier Overview - Lost Ark Guide (Lancemaster)

This skill is a good hybrid of mobility and damage. While it’s not a huge burst of immediate damage, it does a good amount of damage over its animation. With more investment, it becomes a decently strong damage option, especially for the Control Build.

  • Skill Type: Combo
  • Attack Type: Back Attack
  • Stagger: Low (Level 1)
  • Cooldown: 15 seconds

First Row Tripods

Quick Prep

  • Effect: Cooldown is reduced by 3-5 seconds.
  • Recommendation: This is typically the go-to option for this skill. While it already has a short cooldown, it provides more damage the more often it can be used. This makes it a readily available option for damage.

Firepower Control

  • Effect: Dual Meter gain is increased by 30-45%
  • Recommendation: While it is a decent multi-hit skill, there are skills that end up doing a much better job at consistently generating your Dual Meter.

Magick Control

  • Effect: MP Cost is reduced by 50-67%
  • Recommendation: Even with its relatively low cooldown, it doesn’t expend enough MP to be worth reducing the cost of the skill.

Second Row Tripods

Bond of Trust

  • Effect: Changes skill to Normal Mode. Advance forward and swing your spear. Upon return, your clone charges forward and performs a finishing strike.
  • Recommendation: This can be a nice option if you don’t prefer Combo skills, but still want good damage out of the skill. This makes it so you don’t have to recast to get the extra hit.

Quick Step

  • Effect: Change skill to Normal Mode. Advance forward and perform two slashes. Damage is increased by 20%.
  • Recommendation: This reduces the hit count and removes the return. This can be a good option if you wanted extra mobility, but the other options are better for damage

Brilliant Spear

  • Effect: Move distance reduced to 1 meter per swing. Each swing releases a paralyzing energy wave. Damage is increased by 15%.
  • Recommendation: If you can deal with a Combo skill, this provides the most damage by effectively doubling your hits. In addition, the energy waves provide a fair bit of AoE for the situations where you need it.

Third Row Tripods

Concentration

  • Effect: Increases Attack Speed by 20%. Hits ignore 60-84% of enemy defense.
  • Recommendation: While this sounds really good for overall damage, this skill lacks the base damage to really make this useful. It is also a quick attack inherently, which means the attack speed goes to waste. It can be used initially, as it’s almost comparable to Enhanced Concussion damage-wise, but is weaker as you level the Tripods and you lose the added Stagger power.

Enhanced Concussion

  • Effect: Increases Stagger to Mid-High (Level 4). Single target damage is increased by 60-95%.
  • Recommendation: For the third row, this is the go-to option. It provides the much-needed increase in damage while also significantly boosting its stagger power. This damage boost ends up heavily outweighing the Defense Ignore at later tripod levels.

Lost Ark Glaivier Class Guide for Beginners (21) Spear Dive (Flurry)

“Jump up and thrust your spear 5 meters forward and inflict low Damage to nearby foes before performing a rotating kick attack that inflicts low Damage 5 times. Use the skill again to land at the target location, swing your spear, and inflict medium Damage.”

This skill can be a decent mobility option for PvP but isn’t often used in PvE. It packs a fair bit of utility which makes it great for PvP. It lacks the raw damage and mobility power to use in most situations in PvE.

  • Skill Type: Combo
  • Attack Type: Back Attack
  • Super Armor: Paralysis Immunity (Level 1)
  • Cooldown:

First Row Tripods

Magick Control

  • Effect: MP Cost is reduced by 50-67%
  • Recommendation: Being more of a PvP oriented skill, this can be useful. Though the base mana cost isn’t super high to really warrant its use.

Raid

  • Effect: On hit, reduce target’s movement speed by 20-35% for 7-8 seconds.
  • Recommendation: The slow is a decently strong crowd control effect in PvP. It ends up resulting in easy follow-up, or your opponents being forced to burn their mobility to get away.

Excellent Mobility

  • Effect: Increases Move Distance by 2 Meters.
  • Recommendation: While two meters can be a nice increase in distance, you have better mobility options in your kit, and this will be far from the only mobility option you would use. It’s fixed at two meters as well, unlike other movement options.

Second Row Tripods

Wide Hit

  • Effect: AoE Radius is increased by 20%.
  • Recommendation: This can help you connect the attack easier, giving it a slight bit more range. I can be useful in some situations, but as far as PvP goes, may not be the strongest.

Sturdy Armor

  • Effect: During Skill use, Incoming Damage is reduced by 30-40%.
  • Recommendation: This can typically be a bit more helpful overall, so long as you’re not opting for Swift Response in the third row. Since the animation is fairly long and has stagger immunity this can really pay off in tight situations.

Perfect Landing

  • Effect: The landing strike becomes a 360-degree strike.
  • Recommendation: This changes the landing strike to a quick radial hit instead of a multi-hit skill. This speeds up Spear Dive’s animation a fair bit in doing so.

Third Row Tripods

Swift Response

  • Effect: Cooldown is reduced by 3-6 seconds. The spinning kick is removed to reduce recovery period.
  • Recommendation: This significantly speeds up the cooldown and the animation of Spear Dive. This can be really useful if you don’t need the multi-hit.

Sharp Dive

  • Effect: Changes to an attack that slams at a target location within 9 meters. Ignores collision with normal foes. Damage is increased by 20%.
  • Recommendation: If you want this skill for mobility, especially in PvP this is the Tripod to go for. Compared to Excellent Mobility, this increases the range of this skill by 4 meters. This also makes it much harder to avoid in PvP as well.

Lost Ark Glaivier Class Guide for Beginners (22) Sprialing Spear (Focus)

“Lower your stance and thrust your spear, inflicting medium Damage.”

Despite this initially being a single hit skill, it can be made into a decent damage option. This makes it a good all-around choice for the Pinnacle build.

  • Skill Type: Normal
  • Attack Type: Back Attack
  • Weak Point: Level 1
  • Cooldown: 5 seconds

First Row Tripods

Firepower Control

  • Effect: Increases Dual Meter gain by 30-45%
  • Recommendation: As a single hit skill this won’t do a ton. If you pair this with Multiple Thrust, it has the potential to be a solid option for building meter. Without it though, you’re better off going Speartip Thrust.

Speartip Thrust

  • Effect: On Skill use, increases Crit Rate by 30%.
  • Recommendation: This helps the skill crit more consistently, and with all the bonuses you can get in the late game can reduce your reliance on picking up Critical as a stat. This help it to a strong damage option.

Shoulder Slam

  • Effect: Move forward 2 meters and stab foes dealing an additional 20-45% damage.
  • Recommendation: This adds a little bit of mobility to the skill, but not enough to make a huge impact. The slight increase is damage falls short compared to Speartip Thrust for overall damage in this row.

Second Row Tripods

Multiple Thrust

  • Effect: Attack count +2. Damage is increased by 40%.
  • Recommendation: This both increases the hit count and damage making this tripod a solid choice for damage output. It’s a bit slower than Spiral Thirst but provides more damage for a slightly slower animation.

Spiral Thrust

  • Effect: Rapidly spin the spear while attacking. Increases Attack width by 20% and damage by 30%.
  • Recommendation: This is also a very nice option for this skill to get extra damage out of it. While it doesn’t do as much as Multiple Thrust, it does still add a fair bit of damage while making it easier to land.

Charged Thrust

  • Effect: Gather your strength before delivering a powerful thrust that knocks down foes. Damage is increased by 20%. Adds Mid Stagger (Level 3).
  • Recommendation: This adds a good amount of stagger, in exchange for a slightly slower animation. being a second-row tripod, it can be a good option if you find yourself needing extra stagger power.

Third Row Tripods

Blasting Thrust

  • Effect: Adds an explosion that deals 40% damage and knocks back foes.
  • Recommendation: This can be a nice bit of extra damage, but it’s not a ton. If you are taking this to Level 10 and as a damage option, you’d want this tripod. The other option doesn’t provide damage and actually makes it harder to use another one of your damage Tripods.

Piercing Thrust

  • Effect: Increases Attack Range by 80%. With Speartip Thrust, the energy applies throughout the entire speartip range.
  • Recommendation: The extra range can be nice, but if you’re using Speartip Thrust, it forces you to play at a farther range than you’d want to be as a melee. If you find yourself enjoying the range, you may want to consider a different option for the first row.

Lost Ark Glaivier Class Guide for Beginners (23) Stampeding Slash (Flurry)

“Madly brandish your spear while moving 4 meters forward, inflicting low Damage 3 times, followed by a finishing blow that inflicts low Damage. Airborne foes are launched in the air again when hit.”

For the Control Build, this skill ends up being a strong damage option. It can work just as well in a Pinnacle build, but you’d often be sacrificing mobility for a much less powerful version of the skill.

  • Skill Type: Normal
  • Attack Type: Back Attack
  • Cooldown: 10 Seconds

First Row Tripods

Swift Fingers

  • Effect: Increases Attack Speed by 15-27%
  • Recommendation: Despite its longer animation, it’s already quite quick for the number of hits it can provide. This can be a nice option if you find yourself running less Swiftness though.

Vital Point Hit

  • Effect: Increases Crit Rate by 15-40%.
  • Recommendation: This Tripod helps Stampeding Slash crit more often. This one falls a little bit short unless you’re trying to limit the amount of Crit you pick up in stats, since it’s primarily only used for the Control Build which doesn’t use nearly as much Specialization.

Flurry Expertise

  • Effect: Single Target damage is increased by 20-45%. This effect is reduced to 3-25% for two targets, 7-30% while hitting 5 targets, or 15-40% when hitting 10 or more targets.
  • Recommendation: Much like other instances of Flurry Expertise, it’s a Tripod that rewards hitting single targets or large groups. For Stampeding Slash specifically, it’s the best damage option in this row for both cases.

Second Row Tripods

Spinning Flames

  • Effect: Element is now Fire. Burns foes inflicting very low damage every second for 5 seconds. Stacks up to 5 times.
  • Recommendation: Despite having a stacking mechanic, the damage this provides is super low. Due to the way weaknesses work in Lost Ark, it’s often not even worth taking for the element change.

Spinning Frost

  • Effect: Element is now Water. Inflicts Frost on hit for 5 seconds, reducing movement speed by 10% per stack. Stacks up to 5 times. At 5 stacks, Frost inflicts Freeze Instead.
  • Recommendation: This skill isn’t great for PvP, but this can be a great option to extend combos with it if you wanted to try. It also requires Ripping Blades to be taken in the third row to freeze on its own.

Enhanced Strike

  • Effect: Increases damage by 25-50%.
  • Recommendation: In terms of PvE, this is the best option for overall damage. While it’s just a basic damage increase, it’s still far more effective than either element change.

Third Row Tripods

Inertia

  • Effect: Changes skill to Chain Mode and the skill can be used twice. Increases move Distance by 2 meters but reduces attack count by 3. Damage is increased by 50-83%
  • Recommendation: Chain Mode will slow the skill down a fair bit, but this is balanced out by the 2 quicker attacks. This can also be a mobility increase, but honestly, this is a better damage skill than it is a mobility skill.

Ripping Blades

  • Effect: Spin your spear in place, striking up to 7 times. Damage is increased by 80-120%.
  • Recommendation: This removes the mobility, but heavily increases the damage. It’s a very worthwhile trade-off that helps a ton with your overall damage when using this skill. Though unless you’re running a Control Build, or swap this for another Flurry Skill like Raging Dragon Slash in Pinnacle Build, it’s unlikely you’ll be able to spare the points for it.

Lost Ark Glaivier Class Guide for Beginners (24) Starfall Pounce (Focus)

“Jump within 8 meters of the target location and create a shockwave as you land, inflicting very high Damage and launching foes into the air.”

This skill is mobility but is also a huge source of damage thanks to a Tripod that makes it always critically strike. The skill has great tripods that not only support damage but can give this skill extra utility as well.

  • Skill Type: Point
  • Attack Type: Back Attack
  • Super Armor: Paralysis Immunity (Level 1)
  • Cooldown: 24 Seconds

First Row Tripods

Weak Point Detection

  • Effect: Damage against Push-Immune foes is increased by 20-45%.
  • Recommendation: This is the best Tripod to use for damage in PvE. While this bonus only applies to Elites and bosses, those are the targets that you actually want the extra damage for.

Wide-Angle Attack

  • Effect: AoE Radius is increased by 20%.
  • Recommendation: Increasing the AoE can be a decent option for like Chaos Dungeons, or more clearing power in general. It’s not going to provide much else outside of that type of content, where Weak Point Detection does more for you.

Weak Point Enhancement

  • Effect: Adds Weak Point Level 1.
  • Recommendation: This can be helpful if you need the extra Weak Point option in your skills, but with your Focus skill being mostly burst damage and just single hit attacks, this typically won’t be too useful.

Second Row Tripods

Concussion

  • Effect: Adds Mid Stagger (level 3)
  • Recommendation: The same thing applies here as for Weak Point Enhancement. It’s not as valuable on a single-hit skill, but if you find yourself needing the extra, it’s there.

Firepower Control

  • Effect: Increases Dual Meter gain by 50-75%.
  • Recommendation: Single hit skills can greatly contribute Meter gain, especially with this kind of tripod. However, this skill is better for raw damage rather than meter gain.

Quick Prep

  • Effect: Reduces skill cooldown by 7-10 seconds.
  • Recommendation: This Tripod cuts down a significant part of Starfall Pounce’s cooldown. Since it’s removing 29-41% of the skill’s base cooldown it makes it worth picking up. This also helps smooth out your rotations.

Third Row Tripods

Powerful Finish

(Video) Lost Ark | Ultimate Glaivier Guide | Pinnacle Endgame Build

  • Effect: Skill will always Critically Strike against Push-Immune Foes. Grants 0-44% Crit Damage.
  • Recommendation: This Tripod is really great, because it’s at minimum doubling the damage of a skill with very high base damage. If you level it, it further increases the Critical Damage as well, making even more potent.

Ground Explosion

  • Effect: Adds a Falling Spear that explodes after your attack. Damage is increased by 70-105%.
  • Recommendation: While this is an extra hit and can pair decently with Concussion or Weak Point Enhancement, it has to be max level to even provide comparable damage to Powerful Finish.

Lost Ark Glaivier Class Guide for Beginners (25) Thrust of Destruction (Focus)

“Gather energy onto your spear, inflicting very low Damage 2 times to foes at close range, then thrust forward, releasing a beam of energy that inflicts medium damage 3 times, and medium Damage 1 time as a finisher.”

This skill is a fairly strong multi-hit attack capable f good damage if it all connects. It gets a ton of strong damage increase and utility options in Tripods that can make it a great option.

  • Skill Type: Normal
  • Attack Type: Back Attack
  • Super Armor: Paralysis Immunity (Level 1)
  • Cooldown: 24 Seconds

First Row Tripods

Quick Prep

  • Effect: Cooldown is reduced by 5-8 seconds.
  • Recommendation: This can be a good option to use to help smooth out your DPS rotations. While this doesn’t take off a huge portion of Thrust of Destruction’s cooldown, it does bring it much closer to aligning with your Flurry Skills.

Weak Point Detection

  • Effect: Damage against Push-Immune foes is increased by 20-45%.
  • Recommendation: Compared to most instances of Weak Point Detection, this one is rather weak. It’s still a solid damage increase, but it’s harder to pass up Quick Prep because of this. Though it’s really just preference.

Swift Fingers

  • Effect: Attack Speed is increased by 20-36%
  • Recommendation: This help speeds up the animation of Thrust of Destruction. This can be especially good paired with Air-Ripping Thrust, shortening the charge time.

Second Row Tripods

Speartip Thrust

  • Effect: Increases Skill Crit Rate by 50-80%
  • Recommendation: By itself, this is a decent Tripod that allows the skill to crit often. Combined with Air-Ripping Thrust, however, it gives you another guaranteed crit skill and a huge boost of overall damage. If you use both Tripods, this one should remain unleveled, and eventually be replaced when you get to Gear sets that offer Crit Rate on them.

Shield

  • Effect: During Skill use, gain a Shield equal to 30-40% of Max HP.
  • Recommendation: This can be a nice defensive option if you wanted to use it alongside Air-Ripping Thrust as well, making it a safer charge skill overall. It’s generally not necessary, but can be considered if the other options don’t help your build.

Weak Point Enhancement

  • Effect: Adds Weak Point Level 2.
  • Recommendation: With this being a multi-hit skill, it can be a good option for applying Weak Point. While every hit won’t apply it, it does still apply a couple of instances of this bonus.

Third Row Tripods

Air-Ripping Thrust

  • Effect: Changes skill to Charge Mode. At Full charge, Damage is increased by 50-83% and Crit Rate is increased by 50%.
  • Recommendation: Despite making the skill a Charge Skill, the 50% Crit Rate alone makes this a good pickup. Since this comes with additional damage as well, it’s quite literally an improved Speartip Thrust. Combined with Speartip Thrust, it makes it a guaranteed Critical Hit.

Air-Splitting Slash

  • Effect: Final attack releases energy that deals 30-60% base damage 3 times. The final hit gains knockback.
  • Recommendation: This can provide more raw damage but doesn’t come with the additional Crit Rate. This can be better paired with Speartip Thrust, since that Tripod alone can give you a lot of Crit, enough to be nearly 100% with just gear set, Stance Buffs, and your synergy alone.

Lost Ark Glaivier Class Guide for Beginners (26) Vault (Flurry)

“Stick your spear in the ground and do a somersault, inflicting medium Damage and launching foes into the air.”

This skill serves as your primary counter skill. In addition, it’s a decent mobility option when it’s not needed as a counter.

  • Skill Type: Normal
  • Attack Type: Front Attack
  • Counter: YES
  • Stagger: Low (Level 1)
  • Super Armor: Paralysis Immunity (Level 1)
  • Cooldown: 10 Seconds

First Row Tripods

Quick Prep

  • Effect: Cooldown is reduced by 2-4 Seconds.
  • Recommendation: Being your Counter Skill, it cna be helpful to reduce the cooldown of it. Though unlike most counters, this one has a really short cooldown which makes it quite easy to use without the extra cooldown.

Excellent Mobility

  • Effect: Move distance is increased by 3 meters.
  • Recommendation: This is probably the more preferred option. Not only does this add mobility, but it will also make landing the counter more reliable as well.

Firepower Control

  • Effect: Increases Dual Meter gain by 30-45%
  • Recommendation: This skill is not going to be a great option for building your Dual Meter. Being a single hit it’s not the greatest at doing so and doesn’t have much damage to go along with it either.

Second Row Tripods

Strong Upper Kick

  • Effect: Increases distance foes are lifted, increasing Knockdown time.
  • Recommendation: This can be a niche PvP option, but knockdowns won’t always be the most reliable crowd control option.

Concussion

  • Effect: Increases Stagger to Mid (Level 3)
  • Recommendation: Stagger would be nice, but this skill doesn’t hot more than even twice with tripods, so it’s not too great of an option.

Earth Attack

  • Effect: Element is now Earth. No longer sends foes airborne. Reduces foe Move Speed by 70% for 5 seconds.
  • Recommendation: Another good PvP option, since slows can have a decent impact there. However in PvE it’s not great.

Third Row Tripods

Scoop

  • Effect: Somersault attack is replaced with an upwards slash. Increases Aoe Radius by 20% and damage by 50-80%.
  • Recommendation: This can help increase the damage of Vault, while making your counter a bit more reliable. This can be worthwhile if you have the spare points to spend.

Ground Smash

  • Effect: Attack becomes an upwards strike followed by and downwards slam. The downward attack will always Critically Strike.
  • Recommendation: This can be a nice damage option, but generally not worth the investment. The additional hit can be good for applying Concussion, but the extra damage isn’t great since the skill has low base damage.

Lost Ark Glaivier Class Guide for Beginners (27) Wheel of Blades (Flurry)

“Spin sideways, inflicting low Damage 3 times, followed by a finishing blow that inflicts medium Damage. Airborne foes hit by the spinning attack are launched in the air again, and then get slammed to the ground with the last blow.”

Wheel of Blades is quite the potent damage skill. With plenty of Tripod Options that support it being a strong damage and Stagger option without heavy investment. It also has the benefit of charging your Dual Meter really well without investment.

  • Skill Type: Normal
  • Attack Type: Front Attack
  • Stagger: Mid (Level 3)
  • Super Armor: Paralysis Immunity (Level 1)
  • Cooldown: 14 Seconds

First Row Tripods

Magick Control

  • Effect: Reduces MP cost by 50-67%
  • Recommendation: This is honestly a great option for this skill if you have extra points to spend. Since it’s more of a filler skill and doesn’t need much support to help it do good damage or to build meter.

Slam

  • Effect: The last attack always slams foes, even if they are not airborne.
  • Recommendation: This is more of a guaranteed knockdown for PvP if anything. It’s not a great option for most situations though.

Excellent Mobility

  • Effect: Increases Move distance by 2 meters and increases push distance.
  • Recommendation: This is a decent PvP option, but much less so for PvE. The extra mobility is great when paired with Tenacity for PvP, adding mobility and a great Super Armor option.

Second Row Tripods

Weak Point Detection

  • Effect: Increases Damage to Push Immune Foes by 30-60%
  • Recommendation: This is a good option for additional damage and honestly the only one that’s worth taking for PvE. While it’s not a huge increase, it adds up over the multiple hits.

Firepower Control

  • Effect: Increases Dual Meter gain by 50-75%
  • Recommendation: While this further increases its utility, it’s often to better forgo this tripod in favor of Weak Point Detection for PvE or Tenacity for PvP. If you lack Wealth Runes though, this can be a good pick-up.

Tenacity

  • Effect: Adds Push Immunity (Level 2 Super Armor)
  • Recommendation: This is a good option for PvP, especially paired with Excellent Mobility. Super Armor is incredibly important for PvP, especially when it’s Level 2.

Third Row Tripods

Ground Cleave

  • Effect: Increases Crit Rate by 50-80%.
  • Recommendation: This can be a decent pick-up if you want to fully invest in this skill. It keeps you from having to heavily invest in Crit and still get great damage out of this skill.

Consecutive Spin

  • Effect: Changes the skill to Combo Mode, allowing for two uses. Damage is increased by 100-144%.
  • Recommendation: This is a good option for raw damage, even though it can mess up your skill rotations by delaying the cooldown a bit. Combo skills can be weird at some time.

Lost Ark Glaivier Class Guide for Beginners (28) Wind Splitter (Flurry)

“Strike with your spear in multiple directions, inflicting medium Damage and pulling foes close.”

This can be a little useful for Chaos Dungeons but isn’t too great beyond that. The pull effect helps with mobbing, but isn’t too often needed. This may have some situational use in PvP as well, but limited.

  • Skill Type: Normal
  • Attack Type: Back Attack
  • Cooldown: 12 Seconds

First Row Tripods

Magick Control

  • Effect: MP Cost is reduced by 50-67%
  • Recommendation: With this primarily being a utility skill, this can be a decent option. This cna also help with mana management in PvP.

Concussion

  • Effect: Adds Low Stagger (Level 1)
  • Recommendation: Being a single hit skill, this won’t be a great option for stagger without it being a higher level.

Bind Feet

  • Effect: On hit, reduces foe Move Speed by 50-69% for 2-3 seconds.
  • Recommendation: This is a decent PvP option to pair with Down Strike. Since Down Strike makes this a linear skill rather than a circular skill.

Second Row Tripods

Flurry Expertise

  • Effect: Single-target damage is increased by 30-60%. 5-30% when attacking 2 foes, +10-35% when attacking 5, and +20-45% when hitting 10 or more foes.
  • Recommendation: This Tripod is great for both single-target and large crowds. When combined with Down Strike and hitting a single target, it can be a decent PvE option, though Final Decision may be a little more reliable for that.

Weak Point Detection

  • Effect: Damage to Push-Immune foes is increased by 30-60%.
  • Recommendation: This can be a good PvE option, as it adds damage against the targets you’ll need it for most. Though this isn’t really a PvE skill.

Final Decision

  • Effect: Consumed 20% of the Dual meter to increase damage by 60-96%. The effect will not apply unless Dual Meter is 20% charged.
  • Recommendation: This can be a good option for PvE or PvP, as it can contribute a good boost of damage if you can build meter for it. Though, there are still better damage options to spend meter on.

Third Row Tripods

Giant Wheel

  • Effect: Changes skill to Combo Mode. Adds a greater spin that pulls foes in. Damage is increased by 100-145%
  • Recommendation: This can be a good option to increase damage, and slightly increase PvP catch potential. Though, Down Strike seems like a better option for most cases.

Down Strike

  • Effect: Changes the spinning strike to a downward strike and the attack becomes linear. Increases damage by 50-83% and Crit Damage by 100%.
  • Recommendation: This extends the skill outwards a bit, narrowing the area that the skill would hit normally, while also giving a sizeable damage buff. In PvE This can be a huge benefit with the Glaivier’s naturally high crit rate between her mix of buffs and debuffs.

Glaivier Awakening Skills

Like all other classes, the Glaivier has two Awakening Skills that both deal heavy damage but differ in speed or utility. Both Awakening will struggle to get maximum value against more mobile targets.

Lost Ark Glaivier Class Guide for Beginners (29) Yeon-Style Spear Technique: Spear Meteor

“Perform an attack at the target location. Leap 4 meters backward while facing forward, focus energy onto your spear and throw it at the target area. The spear strikes the ground to inflict Incredibly High Damage, then causes an explosion that inflicts Incredibly High Damage 8 times, knocking foes back with the last hit.”

This Awakening is great for its very backloaded damage, similar to Soulfist’s World Decimation Awakening Skill. It deals heavy damage but will be lackluster for more mobile targets since its hits are limited to the explosion range after casting, though this AoE is quite large. This ultimately ends up being the more reliable of the two when used well, as once the wind-up finishes the damage is dealt almost immediately.

  • Skill Type: Point
  • Stagger: High (Level 5)
  • Super Armor: All Immunity (Level 3)
  • Cooldown: 5 minutes

Lost Ark Glaivier Class Guide for Beginners (30) Yeon-Style Spear Technique: Storming Red Dragon

“Focus your mind and thrust your spear in front of you to inflict Very High Damage, then pull it back, inflicting Very High Damage and pulling foes closer. Afterwards, swing your spear and inflict Incredibly High Damage 5 times, followed by a series of thrusts that inflict Very High Damage 8 times. Move 8 meters past foes and deliver a finishing blow, inflicting Incredibly High Damage and knocking foes back.”

This Awakening’s damage starts immediately and comes out fairly quick, which makes it a great option while learning an encounter. Being a Holding Skill, this skill ends up being easier to use and can do a ton of damage if you’re able to use the full duration. Being able to cancel it early if a boss moves out of the way can save some time by not being animation locked. Due to the several hits it deals, this can be a good panic option if you need to meet a stagger check.

  • Skill Type: Holding
  • Stagger: High (Level 5)
  • Super Armor: All Immunity (Level 3)
  • Cooldown: 5 Minutes
